"Dr. Baumgarten is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and knee and shoulder surgery. He is the first and only physician in South Dakota to be elected to the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society. In addition, he was the first fellowship-trained hip arthroscopy specialist to care for patients with hip pain in South Dakota. Dr. Baumgarten served as an Associate Physician with the New York Mets baseball team while completing his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. During residency, he trained with the team physicians of the St. Louis Rams, Blues, and Cardinals sports teams and is the current Head Team Physician for the Sioux Falls Stampede."
